This is something my husband and I have a hard time agreeing on. In my family, we were given SOMETHING for Easter until we went off to college. However, my husband says we should stop as soon as she stops believing in the Easter Bunny.
How about your family? I’m just wanting to get a general opinion on this matter.
i agree with you!
my sister & I received a small gift for Easter until the day we moved out!
It’s Easter, everyone deserves a little treat whether they believe or not..
that’s like saying you shouldn’t give/receive anything on Christmas because you don’t believe in Santa.
I think I got Easter baskets or some candy or something until I went to college, my dad especially was always into getting us something, even if it was just some chocolate bunnies…
I think it’s sweet to keep doing it until whenever you want, at least til they move out of your house…
It may seem like a little thing to some people but I always fondly remember my dad getting things like that for us…

I agree with you, until they move out.

My dad’s nearly 50 and my grandma still gets him something. I never really believed in the Easter Bunny, but I’m 15 and still get an Easter basket.
It’s a nice little adventure to wake up in the morning and try to find where my dad and stepmom have hidden it 🙂

I’m getting ready to have a child of my own, and my mom still likes to buy my brothers and I things for Easter. I plan on always buying Easter presents for my daughter as well, even when she’s old. Obviously, when she is an adult it would probably be more like some flowers or a card and a chocolate bunny, but it’s a holiday whether you’re a child or an adult!

well about a year ago we told our oldest girls 10 and 8, about santa, easter bunny and tooth fairy, because a couple of kds at school had said stuff to my oldest, so now we are not bringing my younger ones up the same way, we believe in telling the truth and besides kids get upset when they find out that they are not real. We still give them easter baskets and fill stockings, but they know they come from us not from a imaginary person

Our family stopped around mid teens- 15 or so.

I am 25 and still requested an Easter basket this year lol

My sisters and I still get Easter baskets, and 3 of us are married with kids, and my youngest sister is a freshmen in college. We still enjoy it, it isn’t anything big, just some candy.

I am 21 and live on my own since i was 18 and my mom still makes me an easter basket just like the little kids. She just likes to do it and the candy isnt htat expensive it is the thought that counts. OHH i even get a stocking from santa clause too. LOL it makes her feel good and i never have to buy candy ever.

My kids are 3 and 4. I think we will give them a basket every year until they ask us to stop. We will just make sure that the baskets have stuff for kids their age. If we have a girl in the future we may get her a purse instead of a basket and fill it with make up, some candy, a cd, dvd, books and other things that she would want. For a boy we might use a ball cap and put a dvd, cd, books and things he would like. Then again, we may keep putting it in a basket.

My eldest is 18 and he still gets a basket, he doesn’t get all excited so i do get him some small and i don’t get the little trinkets and stuff for him. But yeah…we do easter baskets until they move out. My mom still does an easter basket for me and my husband, though. She drives over after church and has two big baskets in her hand, and smiles real wide and says, "the easter bunny forgot AGAIN where you lived!" Oh boy. Sometimes the easter bunny goes on for THAT long!

I got them until I moved out, so
I will probably do the same with my kids.

My 14-year olds have not believed in the Easter bunny for years, but they told me today they wanted a basket and to color eggs since they’ve always received one. (One even wanted a videogame in his!) lol
Before I had children, I’d give my mom and sister an Easter basket or even candy for Valentines Day just because I wanted them to know they were special. My sister even asked me today if she’d get a basket…
It’s a tradition than anything that makes them feel loved.

I’m 26 and my mum and I still give each other Easter Eggs. But I’d guess that it’s just an excuse for us to legitimately gorge on chocolate without looking greedy! lol

my brother is 20, and i’m 16 and we still get a small gift like a dvd, video game etc. and lots of chocolate/candies in our easter baskets.

In my house it stopped when we stopped believing in the easter bunny but i seem to be in the minority. I really don’t see the point after that gifts is not what easter is about any way

Haha i’m 33 and my parents still give me something for easter, and still do "easter basket hunts" for the adults.
It wouldn’t make sense for our family to stop giving them something when they stop believing in the Easter Bunny, because we’ve always given them something from us, and something from the easter bunny.
Plus-what if you have say a 5yo and a 9yo. The 9yo doesn’t believe, but the 5yo does. What will the 5yo think when big brother/sister stops receiving a gift?
I’ll still be giving my kids easter "somethings" for a loooong time lol 😉
Happy Easter Scy! 🙂

Your husband is a sour puss. (Sorry Mr. Scy blahblahblah) My oldest one is in college and she still has an easter basket. Hers is filled with mac and cheese, gas card, chocolate chip muffins and other items for her apartment, but she still has one. I think I will always give my kids Easter Baskets. I think they are fun and i have a blast doing them. My husband even gets one!
