Easter Idea Blog – Ideas for Easter Crafts, Easter Decorations, Easter Dinner and Easter Flowers

My son will be 14 months old on Easter Day..and as i know he doesn’t need an Easter Basket as some would say I want to do a little something for him that day. I see all types of baskets, but most are filled with candy that he can’t have. So if anyone has any ideas that could help me out I would greatly apprecitate it…Thanks

My son is 16 months. We purchased an empty plush basket that is of Elmo’s head with bunny ears. We then purchased a few things to go in the basket. We got three small Tonka cars that look like Wheel Pals but are smaller. They are the same size as cars that came with a few toy sets we had previously got him. The toy sets were for 18 months, but he plays with the m now. The cars are a soft plastic and large enough not to be a chocking hazzard. We also got two eggs that have M&Ms and Hershey Kisses in them. My sons likes shaking the eggs, and either my husband or I will eat the chocolate. We also bought a few other things we thought were cute, like a small stuffed duck. We purchased everything at Target.

Puzzles, Play-dough, Stamps and paint, some small learning toys, BOOKS!

Try to think of fun things he would enjoy and learn from also!!

Get him a stuffed rabbit and hide it then help him find it. Also eggs filled with money for his piggy bank or he can use the money for a toy he really wants or you want him to have. (My daughters 18 months and yes there are toys she really wants! Like one of those dogs that paddles in the water, and walks)

I’m in the same boat you are. I have a 12 month old. What I’m doing is just something small. I’m including a few little bath toys from the dollar store, a ball and some plastic easter eggs filled with assorted cereal he likes to eat. Doesn’t sound very fun in comparison to his brother and sister’s but he’s too young for all the chocolate.

Go look around the dollar store and see if you can find some little toys or snacks he might like.

I hit the dollar store and got my son a few little things. I got him a tooth brush, a ball, a stuffed rabbit, a hand broom and dust pan(he likes to "help" me clean), and a hat for summer. I have a friend with an 18 month old and she did the same but got coloring books and crayons, sidewalk chalk, and paints.

Our daughter will be 14 months next week, and for her Easter basket, we got a few small toys (a Mr. Potato Head, a shape puzzle, a couple of small cars), a new book with bunnies in it (seemed appropriate for Easter), and since candy seems obligatory for an Easter basket, we got her some fruit snacks that she’s never had before (not exactly candy, but close enough for her!), and some animal crackers.

My daughter was about 16 months last year at Easter, and I got her a premade basket with a ball and sidewalk chalk in it. Of course, the chalk got tossed after she tried to eat it. As to the candy, the premade baskets only really have 3-8 different types, and we used them as occasional treats, it’s okay to have candy every once in a while w/ adult supervision(my brat hates cake and ice cream, go figure). I did see the cutest little one basket at wal-mart, it had a terry cloth rabbit, duck and frog in it with very little candy, I wish they would of had that 2 years ago. Unfortunately, daddy popped the ball trying to shove it under her bed, so she’s getting a ball in her basket again this year, along with her dressup clothes. But we added an outfit and a chocolate rabbit lollipop to her basket last year too, it was nice. You can also put empty plastic easter eggs in there for him, kids love playing with those. They will stack em, use em to pour things in the bathtub… it’s kind of like giving them and empty box, they love it and do amazing things w/ it.

Good luck!

My son is 17 months. His basket has a ball, a book, some little people, and a few of the mini wheel pals cars. I also have some eggs and each egg has 1 or 2 M&M’s in them. For his whole basket I used 1 fun size pack of M&M’s. I figure that way he can eat all of it at once if he wants and I dont have to try to take it away from him and make him cry!
