Easter Idea Blog – Ideas for Easter Crafts, Easter Decorations, Easter Dinner and Easter Flowers

I planted annual Easter Lilies a couple years ago, and they came up that first year, but since then only the stems have come up, and they have never bloomed. No flower part at all. So I would like to know whats wrong with them.. and if I can do anything to help them, or just have to get new ones. Here’s a picture of my neighbors, its what mine use to look like. Is this even a Easter Lily?? If not please tell me what it is. Thanks.

This is a daffodil. Is is possible that you mowed down or cut the foliage back when it did not boom? Most bulb plants have to let the stems die back naturally. Simply put the “energy” of the foliage goes back into the bulb that gives it the oompf to produce a flower again the next year. A lot of times the foliage is not so attractive after it is done blooming and people will cut it back to early. It needs to die back completely. Try braiding the foliage together and pinning to the ground so you can plant other bedding plants around it if they are in a flower bed. Eventually the foliage will disappear on it’s own. Hope this helps.
