I’m having a ham, of course, but I’m looking for a good side dish aside from the normal mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole…etc. Any suggestions?

We always do the ham too. Our side of potato is CHEESY POTATOES though. Want the recipe, just detail in additional info and I’ll get back with you.

We also serve broccoli casserole instead of the green bean casserole (we save that one for Thanksgiving), corn, fruit kabobs, macaroni salad (for those of us who’d like a cold side), and deviled eggs of course (gotta do something with all the eggs we just dyed), and rolls with butter.

1 inion chopped
1/4 cup white wine

Saute onion in oil and then add crab meat and stir then add crab meat to mix and then wine and cook about 3 minutes remove from heat and add the rest of ingredients stir togther and stuff mushrooms bake at 350 for 30 minutes. I also make these a day or two in advance just that you have to cook them a little longer like 45 minutes. And drizzle oil over the top of mushrooms before cooking and sprinkle with paprika

We are having a boneless leg of lamb with mint sauce, along with hash brown casserole, fresh asparagus, a pickle and olive plate, deviled eggs, and fresh fruit salad, with cheesecake for dessert. All fairly traditional, but it’s a good combination and we always have to have a large source of carbs to fill up teenage boys.

If I were serving ham, I would make scalloped potatoes (or au gratin), fresh broccoli in the micro, orange jello salad with a lemon pudding topping, and a family recipe for ham sauce – a mild egg custard type thing with vinegar and mustard. Sorry I can’t give you that one, but the orange salad recipe is below:

ORANGE JELLO SALAD
2 sm. orange Jellos
2 c. boiling water
1 sm. frozen orange juice concentrate
2 cans mandarin oranges
1 can crushed pineapple
1 lg. box instant lemon pudding
1 c. milk
1 sm. Cool Whip

Mix Jello, water and orange juice; chill until firm. Add mandarin oranges and pineapple; when solid, mix pudding milk and Cool Whip together and top salad. Chill until set.

Happy Easter!
