Its the easter holidays – and i need things to keep my 5 yo boy busy. Any ideas?
About the time my son turned 5 he became interested in “drawing” realistic pictures, etc. So I would provide some themed paper shapes and get him started on a mural. I’d leave it up and he’d add to it over a 3 days to a week. It still is a popular activity.
They very much like to explore…and they CAN think logically about most things…so I was more willing to provide my son with a whole “palette” of paint colors, paint tools, etc and let him explore on his own. We turned them into mobiles, used them for scissor practice, collages, cards, etc.
This age still loves sensory—shaving cream play…making and playing with playdough…water and rocks, etc.
I know those aren’t “easter” ideas and not necessarily crafts but maybe it will help trigger ideas for your child. Have you asked him what he would be interested in doing? The local library will have craft books he can browse through, computer games he can check out, etc.
Have fun!
Who made these dishes for you, and how did that make you feel?
I’m not religious at all … and I don’t think the Easter Bunny is either. No chocolate eggs? Hello?
A traditional family dinner on Easter doesn’t necessarily have to be religious in significance.
When I was a young child, my family wasn’t religious but we did celebrate holidays. Not much religious connotation. My sister and I would wake up and find muddy bunny paw prints all over the place. My parents used my cats paws for that.
My grandmother made breakfast to dinner every holiday, i felt special because my grand would go out of her way to make what you want these are three of the family easter dish

Do you have any good ideas for Easter basket gifts for my husband and my 3-month-old son? My husband is a sports guy (golf, football, etc), but we don’t have much money right now. I will take any ideas! Thanks in advance!
As for the little guy, when my 7 year old was tiny, we put jars of baby food and baby snack items, travel wipes in a summer plastic set (little chair, pail, shovel, etc.) instead of a basket. All things were very useful. As for your husband, I sometimes give my husband breakfast on the run sort of things like granola bars, and some snack items (nuts, crackers) in his basket. Again, all these are very useful. Happy Easter!
So usually you would drown your partner in chocolate and cute treats for Easter right? My boyfriend doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth and definately wouldn’t appreciate a load of chocolate being dumped on him. I like to spoil him every opportunity I get but I just can’t think of any ideas for this Easter that don’t involve cute chocolate bunnies and eggs.
Can someone creative and romantic PLEASE help me out???
Take him out for a nice dinner and movie. If you want to make him a basket fill it with his favorite foods. I fill my sons basket with different fruits, pretzels, and other things that I know they like.
