Kids get some favorite candy along with a chocolate bunny and a white chocolate cross. They used to get other “trinkets” so long as they fit in the basket such as silly putty, trading cards, lip balm, a hot wheels car or nail polish, that sort of thing. This year (they are older now), I will tuck in a $5.oo gift card to the local convenience store.
Presents that require gift-wrap? No, there are other occasions for that.

Definately, along with a few jelly beans [they are not the children’s favourites ~ they share them with me…yummy], some chocolate, one summer short outfit, a new ball or skipping rope, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and a travel size board game.

Yes…I also put a reminder of their goals for this academic semester, a set of affirmation cards made specifically for their goals and a new music meditation CD. I gave my daughter her last basket at the age of 19. We are creating an amazing basket for my 10 year old as we speak. Mostly books, videos, giftcards and sugarless treats that we buy at the health food store.

Yes, I put religious items in the Easter basket. This indicates what my feeling is toward the true meaning of Easter. I love the goodies that are the Easter bunny, color-dipped eggs, chocolate assorted shapes (various cream filled candies) and all. I even put in some toys. The flavor of it all and the exciting Christian element, make it a very wonderful experience. God Bless.
