Easter Idea Blog – Ideas for Easter Crafts, Easter Decorations, Easter Dinner and Easter Flowers

Our state has implemented a policy for public schools where we cannot provide candy to students. Any ideas on how we can do our Easter Egg hunt this year?

Good Grief – no candy at an Easter Egg hunt? That does make things a little tough. The only thing I can think of is – there’s a company called Oriental Trading Company, I used to get their catalog all the time. It’s full of little trinkets that they sell in bulk. I think they would have a website.
Good luck.

You could go to a dollar, craft or a party supply store. Most have small toys for birthday party grab bags, which would be appropriate. I’ve even seen little plastic eggs you could fill.

Put money in the eggs. It doesn’t have to be much, maybe a nickel, dime, or quarter an egg.

And the point of that would be?

You can use small toys and coins instead, and put them into the Easter Eggs.

If you can’t find toys small enough to fit into the eggs, you can put in small notes that say, "This coupon is good for one (1) Spaulding rubber ball" or "This coupon is good for two (2) pencils."

Have fun!

Maybe, stickers, or stamps, and for the golden egg a $5 bill, or if you could maybe real eggs.

Try Deals or Dollar Tree. They’re sure to have lots of little trinkets you could use-and they’d be affordable too.

If you order the catalog….ORIENTAL TRADING COMPANY there are tons of inexpensive little toys that you can fill the eggs with. It is also a nice idea to put in coins.

I am from bklyn and we had a simular problem.. what they did was had an easter egg hunt and they put in the hunt four keys that went to a box. in the box was four gifts . The idea was the first to find the keys had a chance to win the prizes.. the other eggs had gift certifcates to mickys dees or ice cream.. it worked very well

My family does it like a treasure hunt. Each person starts off with an egg with a note inside. They have to start at the same time except the younger ones start sooner. The note gives a poem or hint to where the next one is hidden. You have to figure all of them out and get to the last one where the toy is hidden. the first one to get done gets a gift card or a 10 dollar bill. it’s fun and it gets their minds working.
