When I was having a lot of problems in my first year of motherhood a local church outreach group really helped me pull through. Now that I am in a blessed place, I want to share my grace with others.

A read a story on someone’s blog about how a local church put on an easter event for the underprivilaged kids. They had a easter egg hunt w/ resurection eggs, gave out religous ispired easter baskets and did some ‘He Has Risen" crafts.

I would LOVE to do something similar next year, so I may help others and take the burden of those who helped me and continue to help others. I am planning now becasue of the large finantial cost that I must save for all year

I am budgeting $800-$1000 for 80-100 kids
I am being realistic? Will I need permits? Do I sent invites? I don’t want to run out of supplies/crafts. Should I plan for more and invite less?

Any and all ideas welcome! I don’t have much saved yet, so buying after easter won’t be an option. Thanks!!
I live in the Central Valley of California

To save on costs, you can make requests to local businesses to donate plastic eggs, activity supplies, and other Easter-related items. Make fliers about the event and ask people from your church to hand them out. Ask shelters, libraries, and children’s hospitals if you can leave fliers with them to promote the event.

I’m having a ham, of course, but I’m looking for a good side dish aside from the normal mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole…etc. Any suggestions?

Ham with Potato Salad and Cole Slaw
and a few good half sour pickles…

I rec’d a potted easter lily for Easter. One flower has already died. When should I move the plant from the pot to the ground?

Anytime after danger of frost. Also if you pull the yellow center out of the flower after it blooms it will last longer.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for six years and I am trying to think of something creative to get/make for him for easter. We are both in college so money is a little tight. I usually give him a basket with candy and a few small gifts. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!

once for my guy i bought plastic eggs and filled them with his fav candy and hid them all around his room. if his dormmate will let you in this would work. my b/f loved it.

I need some ideas for an easter basket for my son.

Also is there any kind of chocolate or candy ment for toddlers? Like low suger, no artificial sweetners, anything organic or whatever.

Last year for his first easter, I just got him a huge stuffed animal and a bunch of toys since he was only 7 months.

This year Im stumped on what to get for him.

Any Ideas Would Help!!!!

Since its the begging of spring we do the out side toys. This year our one year old will be getting a big tonka truck, chalk (We give each kid a different kind of chalk, he will be getting some with a chalk holder to make it easier on his hands) Bubbles (They make cute bubble blowers that just blow bubbles) and some new sandals. We put socks in the plastic easter eggs (Once they get older they love finding them! my two year old remembers from last year!) As far as candy for little ones go most of it is stuff I can eat lol…. and we do sugar free chocolate for our youngest, but we also let them splurge on the candy and chocolate for the week and toss it anything left away (Same with halloween candy) Safety pops are good and the right size for them. But you don’t really have to put in candy. How about animal crackers or even a box of jello and an egg cookie cutter, so you guys can make jiggers. Or maybe you could make cookies! Happy PreEaaster!
